In the Early Years, we provide a stimulating and exciting environment where children can have access to both indoors and outdoors every day. We encourage and develop happy, engaged, independent and resilient learners. We play every day, incorporating a mixture of whole class, small group and individual activities that can be either child or adult led. We have lots of fun and we do like to get messy at times!
We develop positive partnerships with all parents to promote a smooth transition into school and this help us to build on your child’s interests. We plan our topics through individual interest and daily assessment to support each child to achieve their next steps in learning.
The EYFS Framework outlines how and what your child will be learning to support their overall development. In all aspects of learning, your child will be learning new skills, acquiring new knowledge and vocabulary through seven focused areas of learning and development.
These seven areas are split into two categories. These include three Prime areas:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
and four Specific areas:
- Understanding of the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
All areas are important and form the basis for the continuous provision play resources and teaching sessions that we plan.
Throughout the year, we have plenty of opportunities for you to come to stay and play sessions, as well as meeting with the teaching staff to discuss your child’s individual well-being and progress.
At Bollin Primary School, we promise long lasting and happy memories of their time in the Early Years.
